The Bank has established leave options for maternity, paternity and adoption. For encouraging healthy way of life the bank has a gym open for its employees.
Selection of books on well being, yoga, healthy living, stress relief are available in HSBC's internal library.
Health Week was organised by HSBC
for its employees. The aim was to bring facilities to the staff in order
to create awareness about their health and prevention of non communicable
diseases so as to celebrate the World Health Day.
Staff participated in trainings and workshops (such as HIV/AIDS, mental health, diabetes, cancer, depression) from different NGOs. Employees got the chance to do different tests (for diabetes, blood pressure, weight, height, vision) with the help of the Ministry's Health Caravan. And finally they had a chance to contribute by donating their blood.
Engaging employees
Sustainability is embedded in HSBC's culture
through employee commitment on every level. The Bank values employees' feedback
and suggestions in helping HSBC become a better place to work. A Global
People Survey is conducted to understand employees' views on topics such
as pay and benefits and career development as well as to measure their job
satisfaction and willingness to recommend HSBC to friends and colleagues.
To enable and enhance communications between HSBC management and employees,
the Bank has established a range of communications channels to enable employees
to ask questions, give suggestions and share ideas, namely through its intranet
system.

Our aim is always to treat our customers
fairly and with respect and to manage their deposits responsibly. Our lending
criteria are strict, taking into consideration our customers' ability to
repay their loans. We commit to adhere to the MBA Code of Banking Practice.
This Code is a voluntary code of conduct which sets out the standards of
good banking practice that HSBC as a bank, observes in dealing with its
customers and potential customers. We commit ourselves to maintain the relevant
standards of fairness set out in this Code.
To ensure we are aware of our customers' views, we carry out market surveys
and communicate directly with our customers on a regular basis.
We expect our suppliers to abide by HSBC's policies. We require them to respect the rights of their employees, as well as national laws and regulations. If we find a problem, we help the supplier to develop a plan to put it right. Ultimately, we will stop working with suppliers who fail to improve.
