HSBC has had an active commitment to the environment for many years. In 2005, HSBC became the world's first carbon neutral bank. We believe it is the responsibility of governments, businesses and individuals to recognise the challenge of climate change and to play their part in minimising the impacts, now and in the future.
We believe that companies should think not only about profit, but first of all about commitment to the society. HSBC always keep in mind its responsibility. Throughout our actions, we strive to keep balance in this world.
Global Environmental Efficiency Programme

Sustainability of our office infrastructure
An example of greening our supply chain is usage of multifunction all-in-one devices to replace old printers, copiers, scanners and fax machines. This energy- and waste-saving print management initiative helps reduce the amount of equipment, consumption of electricity, toner cartridges and paper, and maintenance cost. Our employees are also invited to join recycling programme.
Internet banking
HSBC Internet Banking service gives customers complete control over their banking needs, from the comfort of their home or office, from around the world through internet services. With the support of this programme, the bank is planning to significantly reduce its printing outcomes.
