In order to make its Internet Banking secure and to help safeguard you against unauthorised access to your account, HSBC issues all its Internet Banking users a free security token.

The Device generates a Security Code that constantly changes, which you are required to key in at various stage of your internet banking session. This ensures maximum protection for your online accounts. Used in combination with a unique Internet Banking Username and Password, the Device provides a superior level of protection.

Register for Internet Banking

Registering for HSBC's Internet Banking service is a simple one-time activity. Register with any one of the combinations below:

  • Your credit card number and PIN; or
  • Your ATM card number and PIN.

What are the limits for transferring money

When you first register for Internet Banking the following limits apply.

Please note: Personal users can reduce limits online at any time by clicking on the 'Services' link in Internet Banking and choosing 'Change Limits'.

Transfers between your HSBC accounts (linked under your Internet Banking profile) Rs 1,000,000
Transfers to non-designated third party accounts in Mauritius or overseas Rs 200,000
Transfers to pre-designated third party accounts in Mauritius or overseas Rs 1,000,000
Foreign exchange limits Rs 200,000

Must I have Cookies on my browser?

No. You will not be allowed to access Internet Banking if your browser does not support 128-bit SSL encryption. Please upgrade your browser or install an alternative Internet browser that supports 128-bit SSL encryption.
